Today I release a digital-only album (although it has cover art): "Uniconga" is a short album featuring a conga... and me. Recorded in December 2018, it was a curious culmination of a year full of personal musical achievements: in August I recorded what would become "Som Alvo" (cf. disc 30), in September I did a percussion solo in Arcos de Valdevez [ soundcloud.com/nmorao/percussion-solo-arcos-de-valdevez-2018 ] and an improvisation on the A1 (in the wee hours of the morning!) [ soundcloud.com/nmorao/aveiras-a1-2018 ] and, at the end of the year, I took advantage of the "leftovers" from a recording session in the studio to dedicate myself to a quick "date" with a conga.
This completely unplanned adventure was recorded by John Klima at ScratchBuilt (Lisbon) on December 4, 2018, and I mixed and mastered it in 2023.
Towards the end of this year, if the winds are favorable, I will release a new solo percussion album. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these four exploratory conga tracks.
